Mrs. Jessica Jensen

Hi, my name is Jessica Jensen, I am entering my 20th year teaching Physical Education in the West Ada School District.  I was delighted to come to Discovery the year it was built (2003). I teach four days a week, with Wednesdays off.  I love teaching PE and hope to instill a love for being active.  My husband (Shaun) and I have three boys: Luke (15), Chase (13) and Cole (9), and it seems our household is active ALL THE TIME!  All of my boys got their start here at Discovery. My eldest son, Luke, will now be a 10th grader at Renaissance High School.  Chase will be an 8th grader at Heritage Middle School and Cole is excited for fourth grade.  So along with teaching at Discovery, I also get to enjoy the parent perspective and getting to know the wonderful families that attend our school.

I truly believe it is the partnership between parents and teachers that help make a child's education meaningful and successful.  At Discovery, students have the opportunity to participate in Discovery Dashers (our run/walk club that meets twice a week throughout the entire school year), the Kids Heart Challenge (Feb.), the District Speed Jump Competition (March) and the District Fun Run (April). Once again, we are a "Fuel Up to Play 60 school" through successful grant writing.  With the funds awarded to Discovery through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, I have purchased new equipment that allows all our students to be successful, along with new equipment and tools for our cafeteria.

My goal is to inspire your child to get up and get moving.  Your support of my efforts and programs is greatly appreciated!  Feel free to contact me any time if you would like to volunteer, or would just like to witness the fun we are having in PE.

I look forward to another exciting year!  I will continue to update my website with upcoming activities and will also continue to communicate information through our school newsletter and blackboard messages. Thanks for all you do. Here's to a successful school year!
