Mrs. Jackson

Hello!
This is my 10th year of teaching and my fourth year at Discovery Elementary. I also taught for the six years at Eagle Elementary School of the Arts.
Let me tell you a little about myself... I am an Idaho native as is my husband. We have beautiful twin daughters who are 4 years old. We love the outdoors including biking, camping, swimming, but most of all ATVing.
I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year. It has always been my dream to be a 4th grade teacher. I grew up learning all about Idaho history from my grandpa and I want to pass along that passion to my students as well.
I attended Boise State for both my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education and my Masters in Educational Technology. I love using technology in the classroom and feel very lucky to be at a school with such great resources. I also feel that teaching using the arts in important in a classroom and therefore hope to incorporate the arts on a weekly basis. If you are interesting in helping with art projects, please let me know.
This year we are going to be working on Maker spaces. If you are not sure what they are, you can search for Makers Space, STEM, STEAM, or project based learning. I will be writing grants this year to get supplies and activities for the students but if you are interested, you can donate directly to our classroom through the Meridian Foiundation. There are great Tax benefits to doing that as well. I will be posting that information on the How Can You Help? page and some of the projects we will be working on this year will be posted on the What are We Doing? page.
