Degrees and Certifications:
BA Psychology from University of Richmond (Virginia), Teaching Certification from BSU 1996
Mrs. Laurie Hobbs
I have been a teacher at Eagle High School for 16 years. I teach Psychology I and II, AP Psychology and Concurrent Credit Psychology. I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Richmond (Virginia) in 1982. I worked as a litigation paralegal for 6 years and then worked in sales and sales training. In 1993, my husband and I moved to Boise where I earned my teaching credential in Psychology and Secondary Social Studies. I began teaching at Eagle High School in 1996 and took time off to be with my daughter beginning the fall of 2001. During that time, I continued to take additional classes, teach as a substitute and taught online for IDLA. I returned to EHS 11 years ago. I have taught AP and CC Psychology for 6 years and Psychology I and II for 14.
My daughter currently attends Boise State University This is her third year in college and second at BSU. Her dad and I are praying that she enjoys it. Thanks goodness she has a dog to clam her down when she needs it (which is often)
I am originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Although I have grown to love the Boise area, I am, as they say, "A Virginian first and last!" I travel back east every chance I get to visit family. I love to meet others who are also from the east coast. Let me know if there is anyone out there who qualifies and we can visit on the topic.
