I was born and raised in Oregon, and moved to Boise for school in 2008. I've lived in Idaho for 6 years and have grown to love this area. I am a BSU graduate, and love to support my Broncos, but will always be a die-hard Oregon Duck fan. I graduated in December of 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Literacy endorsement. This past summer, I received my Highly Qualified status for English and Language Arts instruction. I have always had a passion for reading and especially writing. My main goal as an English teacher is to inspire that same passion in my students.
My family currently resides in Bend, Oregon, and I find any excuse I can to go visit them. My family is everything to me, and one of my classroom mottos is "family comes first." I have a younger brother and an older sister, and my sister has 3 children. I don't have any kids myself, unless you count my cat Bella.
Teaching is my passion, and I'm so lucky to work at an amazing school like Heritage.
To communicate with my students, I have an Edmodo site which is where I will post an overview of the daily lesson, any PowerPoints the kids need for notes, as well as documents/handouts they were given. I invite parents to join as well. Each block has its own code which is required to join. If you are creating an parent account for the first time, it will ask you for a parent code. If you need this, email me at email@example.com and I'll be happy to look up your child's code.
The page on the left titled "Edmodo Information" will have all the steps needed to create an account, as well as all the codes.
