Hello! My name is Kimberlee Burris and I am excited to be a 2nd grade teacher at Barbara Morgan STEM Academy. I have been working at BMSA for seven years - two as an as Instructional Coach and five as a 2nd grade teacher. This will be year 20-something for me as a teacher. I have spent the bulk of my career in West Ada School District, but I have taught in 5 other states. I have taught every grade K-7 over the years, but second grade has a special place in my heart. I am proud graduate of the University of Colorado, where I completed both my teaching certification and earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am dedicated to developing kind, motivated and curious student learners. I strongly value partnering with families and my fabulous colleagues. Outside of school, my husband and I are busy with our kids, though our numbers at home are dwindling rapidly. Of our three kids (Lauren - 22, Jacob - 20, and Ali -17) only our youngest still lives at home She keeps us busy with her schedule as a competitve dancer. We love to camp and are big sport's fans. We love cheering for BSU and WSU (where are son is currently in college)! I am also an avid walker, hiker, paddleboard enthusiast and cycler, and I love all of the wonderful places there are to explore in Idaho.
