Mrs. Tonya King

I'm new to Idaho and excited to teach Family Consumer Science at Lowell Scott.  I taught various subjects both abroad and in the United States and edited legal documents for an American law firm in Hong Kong.  All of our children and grandchildren live in the U.S. and we are excited to be in the same time zone again! We lived in Hong Kong for 10 years and spent 3 years in Mexico City.  We also lived in Minnesota, California, Utah, and Oregon.

Fabric Donations:  The Department is always in need of fabric, thread, or notions.  If you have thread or a 1/2 yard or more of fabric, please drop it off to the office or FCS Room 35.  I can provide a letter for a tax deduction from the school if interested.

Sewing Club:  This is a FREE club.   We are meeting twice a month from 3:20-4:30 pm on the first and third Wednesdays of the month unless otherwise noted. The club is a drop-in format so students can come whenever their schedule allows.  Students can bring in a sewing project or the club may choose projects they want to do together.

          Sewing Club meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month on the following dates:  Sept 18... Oct 2, 16... Nov 6, 20... Dec 4, 11... Jan 8, 22... Feb 5, 19... Mar 4, 18... Apr 1, 15... May 5, 20

Yearbook Club:  I am thrilled to be the Yearbook Advisor!  Yearbook Staff* meet during Advisory all year.  The yearbook is student-driven with a student Yearbook Editor, Copy Editor, and Photography Editor who will lead the yearbook staff with me.

         * Students are invited to apply with 2 teacher letters of recommendation at the beginning of the school year. Interested new Students should contact Mrs. King if interested.
