I have been teaching at Lowell Scott since 2006. My specialties include behavior intervention and teaching functional communication to non-verbal and semi-non-verbal students. Before becoming a teacher, I was a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey for 8 years. Teaching is by far the more exciting of the two careers! I hold a master's degree in geology as well as bachelor degrees in geology and English. I grew up in Anchorage, AK and, while I still miss the wild mountains and rivers, I don't miss the mosquitoes. My household includes my husband, one son, 2 dogs, a cat and a kingsnake. When I'm not teaching I enjoy hiking and swimming. This summer I finally fulfilled my goal to complete the Long Bridge Swim (across Lake Pend Oreille).
