Let me introduce myself!
My name is Amy Birch and I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I graduated from Capital High School and then from Boise State University with a degree in Elementary Education. This will be my nineteenth year teaching. I’ve taught a multitude of grade levels; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even 6th grades. Most of my experience has been in the primary grades. For the last ten years I’ve taught at Mary McPherson Elementary. Before this, I taught at Eagle Hills Elementary, Meridian Elementary, and Lowell Scott Middle School. Teaching is my passion!
My family is my whole world! I have two wonderful children; Isaac, age 11 and Molly, age 12. My husband and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in March of 2017. I am very blessed, for sure.
I just started my Master’s Degree this summer, finishing twelve credits in six weeks. I will slow the pace down a little this school year, taking one class at a time until I graduate in Fall 2017. My focus areas for my degree are in Academic Coaching, Curriculum and Instruction, and Digital Integration in the classroom.
I am so excited to be teaching at Hillsdale Elementary!
