Mrs. Heather Smith

I have been teaching in a variety of jobs and places since 1998, and I've been at Meridian High School since January of 2010. I currently teach Senior English and Creative Writing, but have also previously taught Sophomore English, Reading, Yearbook, Newspaper, Driver's Ed, and correspondence and GED classes.

When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and two daughters, read, and watch movies.

The best way to reach me is always via email. I leave my email open all day, and will get back to you within 24 hours if you have a question or concern about your student. My email address is smith.heather@westada.org.

At the left of the screen, you'll see links for the two classes I am currently teaching.

ABSENT SENIOR ENGLISH STUDENTS: If you are looking for the daily lesson plans and/or any handouts I use in class, you will find EVERYTHING under the class link at left.

ABSENT CREATIVE WRITING STUDENTS: If you need the daily lesson plans and/or handouts, please use the blue notebook on the counter in my classroom.

Finally, I use Remind to send my students occasional text message reminders of homework assignments and upcoming due dates. This service creates a layer of anonymity between my phone and those of my students. This is optional for students and parents. At the end of each semester, I deactivate the old class groups and create new ones--once a semester is over, students won't receive any messages until they sign up for a new class.

Parents, if you would like to receive the Remind homework/due date reminder texts for your student, please follow the instructions below:

Text this number 81010 the following messages:

A-DAY Senior English 12A: @328ga6

B-DAY Senior English 12A: @cgb8k4

If you have trouble with the 81010 number, Remind suggests texting the above codes to (208) 228-5629
