Mrs. Love

Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Heather Love and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher. This is my first year at Hillsdale Elementary School and my 26th year in education. Before coming to Idaho, I taught a first grade for 10 years in Montana where I was also a Balanced Literacy teacher trainer. I am an army brat so spent most of my life living in many places such as Munich Germany, Hawaii, Texas, California, and Montana.

I have lived in Meridian, Idaho for 16 years now and have been an educator for a range of grade levels and subject areas that include, 6-8th grade math and Literacy intervention, 6th grade Family and Consumer Science, first grade, second grade, and a year at the State Department of Education as the State Reading Coordinator.I have been married to my wonderful husband for 19 years and we have a son named Brady who is an 8th grader at Heritage Middle School. For fun I enjoy cooking, doing just about anything outdoors, and painting.

This year, I will help your child reach his or her potential academically and socially. I also plan to teach your child organization and responsibility. I will follow the common core as well as integrate various forms of the arts to enhance the curriculum. It is extremely important to me that every student improves and reaches his or her goals this school year. I plan to use various methods to measure your child’s development and guarantee they are making progress and meeting their goals in every subject area. Finally, I will teach your child the power of GRIT and having a growth mindset as they are persevering through new and challenging material.
