Week of: November 12-16
Instead of our weekly Journey’s story, we will be studying Native American Legends. The students will be writing their own legends and presenting them in class at the end of the week. In addition to writing their own legend, students will also be participating in a Native American Legends Reader’s Theater.
This week we will continue our unit on Long Division. It is extremely important that your student is practicing their multiplication facts at home. Without fact automaticity your student will struggle to be successful with the division and multiplication algorithms. Please encourage them to spend 10 minutes a day on Rocket Math or practicing their multiplication facts.
Book orders are coming home today in the Monday Folder. Please order online if you can. The order code is: MDKDT. If you are sending in cash, please send in the exact amount. I do not have change. Orders are due by Friday night. (We will get the order in before the holiday break.) If you are ordering any books as gifts for Christmas, please send me an email so I can put them aside for you when the orders come in. When they arrive, I will email you and place them at the front office in a bag so you can pick them up.
Our 4th grade wide “Teacher Time: Ice Cream Social” is on November 15th. We have not yet purchased the supplies so, there is still time to sign up! If your child would like to attend, please send in $10. All money raised goes back to our classroom.
Ponderosa Elementary PTA is holding a School Night Out fundraiser tonight at Rudy’s Pub and Grill from 6-8pm. More information about the fundraiser can be found in the Monday Folder.
Our Thanksgiving holiday break is next week, November 19-23. A Reading Log will not be required over break!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break!
