    Dear family,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! This week we are still on an alternating day schedule. Team 1 will attend school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Team 2 will attend on Tuesday and Thursday. As a reminder when students attend school in person, please make sure that they are bringing a charged laptop, charger, and headphones with them to class. They will be using these items throughout the day. Please send your student with a book each day as well for daily silent reading time. When students are at home, they will need to follow the Daily Virtual Visual Schedule and join us for our morning mindfulness meeting, our live math lesson, and read aloud. If I have a substitute, at home students will not need to join our daily meetings/lessons.

This week Ponderosa is participating in Red Ribbon Week.  Each day students are encouraged to dress-up according to the daily theme.  Thursday and Friday, students can wear a school appropriate Halloween costume.  More information will be sent home in a flyer via email.

Due to Covid-19, we will not be having a Halloween party in class. Instead, our classroom will be participating in Halloween themed learning activities throughout the week and a Halloween movie on Thursday and Friday.

Scholastic Book Club orders are due, this Friday, October 30. Flyers were handed out last week in class. This year orders can be placed and delivered to your home. When ordering online, please use our classroom code: MDKDT.

Parent-Teacher conferences are being held on the evening of November 4th and all-day November 5th. This year conferences will be done via a phone call in Teams.  A sign-up link will be sent to you in an email today, Monday, October 26th. Please select one 20-minute spot and leave your student’s name and a contact number in the comment section.

If you have questions, concerns, or comments please email or call me.
