    Fun Run

    Dear family,

I hope you all had a great weekend! Monday folders are coming home today. Please return the folder by tomorrow.

This Friday is the Ponderosa Fun Run. 4th grade students will get a free t-shirt and run their laps at 9:15 – 10:00 am. Please make sure students are wearing proper shoes and bring a water bottle for the Fun Run. Also, Pacers start today. 4th grade students will run Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri. at their last recess, 2:45 PM.

This week students will begin one of our largest math units of the school year, multiplication, and division.  It is crucial to their success that they have their multiplication facts memorized. Students can use our online program Rocket Math for daily practice.  In addition, please ensure that your student is keeping up with their daily Zearn Lessons.

Parent-Teacher conferences are being held on the evening of October 20th and all-day October 21st. This year conferences will be done via a phone call in Teams.  A sign-up link will be sent to you in an email at the beginning of this week. Please select one 15-minute spot and leave your student’s name and a contact number in the comment section.

In the Monday folder you will find a Scholastic book order. You can also access the flyer on my website and in Teams.  Book orders for the month of October are due on Friday, October 15th. Book orders can be shipped to your home. At checkout, you will need to choose to have books sent to your home.  Order Online at scholastic.com/bookclubs. Our class code is MDKDT .

In the event that your student is placed on quarantine protocol, students can access our At-Home Daily Work Schedule on our classroom TEAMS site. This can be found in the General Channel under the tab labeled At-Home Daily Work Schedule. Parents can also access this same schedule on my classroom website. Class meetings will not regularly occur, as assignments will mostly require independent study.  In some instances, a more detailed daily schedule may be necessary. On these occurrences, an email will be sent to individual families and a schedule may be placed on TEAMS.

As a reminder, we will be using our laptops every day. It is very important that your student charges their device each night and brings their device, charger, and headphones to school each day. In addition, please send your student with a water bottle and a chapter book each day.

Please feel free to reach out via email with any questions, comments, or concerns.
