Hello! I am Kristi Kakalow-Buxton. I have been a teacher for 30 years, I have taught kindergarten for 25 years. I graduated from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and went on to get a Masters Degree in Special Education. I believe a kindergarten classroom should be active and child-centered. Kindergarteners need to be moving, creating, and exploring every day. I have a high energy room where all children are successful and loved!
I've been married to my wonderful husband, Michael, for 26 years. We have two children, Emma and Colin. My daughter Emma is a nursing student at BSU. My son Colin is a freshman at BSU. We have two dogs named Shubah and Barnaby. I love crafting, baking, and eating Crumbl cookies!
I love the following quotes that describe my classroom.
"It is stillness we have to justify, not movement."
"Don't forget to have fun with your students. Dance. Sing. Be silly. Dress up. Laugh. Play. Remember, they are only little once and they get to be little with you."
