Welcome to fourth grade! This is a fun and challenging year. We will learn so much together!
Many of you have probably met me. I have been teaching for 20 years, 19 of them here at River Valley! I have taught 4th grade for a total of 19 years and fifth grade for a total of 4 years. The math doesn't work, but for some of those years I taught a 4th and 5th combined class. I absolutely love teaching the intermediate grades. The students are so smart and capable of so much great work.
I am a native Idahoan. I was born in McCall and have lived in the state my entire life. I think this has helped foster my love for Idaho History and helps me make real world connections for students to the place we live.
I have been married to my husband, Mike for 30 years. We have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. All of them live in the area and we spend a lot of time doing things together. We enjoy outdoor activities like camping and rafting. We also enjoy traveling and try to do regular trips together. My family also consists of a dog, and three cats, that run the house, and a couple of huge goldfish that reside in my backyard pond.
I also enjoy running, and over the past few years have run several half marathons. I love the challenge! This has also inspired me, with the help of Mrs. Gourley, to bring Girls on the Run back to River Valley. We will hopefully have the club going for the fall and spring season.
I look forward to spending time with all of my students and their families! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Happy Fourth Grade!
