I'm thrilled to be teaching for my 10th year at Rocky Mountain! It has been a wonderful journey, and I absolutely love this school and all the people in it!
I am a (6th!) generation Idahoan, and have 3 kids (Logan, Gavin, and Baylee) with my wonderful husband, Rodney. It's a crazy house with three kids under 5, but we wouldn't have it any other way! I was born to two educators, so I've always known teaching was what I wanted to do. I've been teaching Honors Freshmen, which is absolutely my favorite age group in English. The content of our curriculum is wonderful, and I love the personalities of such a diverse group of students. We have some amazing discussions about our world and everything we can do to learn from it and positively impact it, using some great literature and writing activities as a base for observations. I get a wonderful opportunity to coach some fabulous leaders in the Yearbook program, and our program has grown to three full classes, covering 2,500 students at our school. What a way to learn some life skills - journalistic reading and writing, social interviewing, artistic photography and design, and leadership.
I'm excited for a wonderful 10th year - go Griz!
