Mrs. Deborah Hammel
My teaching career began in 2004 at Boise State University where I received my degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. Recently I received my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Design with a minor in Environmental Education. I have experience working with children from birth to 3rd grade. For the first 3 years of my teaching career I taught Early Intervention Preschool for the District. For the next three I taught Kindergarten here at Spalding. This will be my sixth year teaching First Grade. I love the Early Childhood years because children of that age change so much which allows me to witness lots of growth. I am also a passionate lover of our planet. So, we try to minimize plastic use and waste in the classroom. That said this year we will be using chalk boards in lieu of white boards most of the time. This will save us money too, because dry erase markers are expensive and do not last long in a First Grade classroom!
