Mrs. Carmi Scheller

I moved to Boise from Norman, Oklahoma July 2008 with my husband Brian and our children Andrew and Tess. This is my thirty-first year of teaching. I have enjoyed teaching first, fourth/fifth multiage, Kindergarten, fifth, being a school library media specialist and an Instructional Coach. A few summers ago I worked with second grade. So, I have directly instructed every elementary grade except third! While in Oklahoma I also had the wonderful experience of teaching at the University of Oklahoma as an adjunct instructor. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Library and Information Sciences both from the University of Oklahoma.  Boomer Sooner!   I achieved National Board certification in 2006. I had the honor of being Star Teacher of the Year in 2016. In 2019 I applied for and was awarded Master Educator status through the Idaho MEP program.

This summer I participated with a few of my students from the 2019-2020 school year in the K-5 remote learning summer school. It was a fantastic learning experience for all of us. I am looking forward to continuing to grow my skills and help my students navigate and learn when we are remote. We will use devices daily when remote and face to face.

I'm very proud of my son and daughter. Andrew married the love of his life this summer and will complete his final semester of his Associate's Degree in Accounting this Fall. His wife Trinity is a smart and caring person and I am glad she has joined our family. Tess is exploring the work world and making her way as an adult with a variety of interests. It is crazy how much life has changed since 2008!

I love to travel, explore, read, write, and learn. I love teaching 4th grade at Star Elementary. This will be my 8th year enjoying 4th grade here and working with the best school team in the state.

I am looking forward to a great year of learning together. You can reach me at
