Mrs. Carmi Scheller

I moved to Boise from Norman, Oklahoma July 2008 with my husband Brian and our children Andrew and Tess. 2021-2022 is my thirty-second year of teaching. I have enjoyed teaching first, fourth/fifth multiage, Kindergarten, fifth, being a school library media specialist and an Instructional Coach. A few summers ago I worked with second grade. So, I have directly instructed every elementary grade except third! While in Oklahoma I also had the wonderful experience of teaching at the University of Oklahoma as an adjunct instructor. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Library and Information Sciences both from the University of Oklahoma.  Boomer Sooner!   I achieved National Board certification in 2006. I had the honor of being Star Teacher of the Year in 2016. In 2019 I applied for and was awarded Master Educator status through the Idaho MEP program.

This will be my ninth year teaching 4th grade at Star Elementary. I love this school and community. It has really grown over the years. The growth has not changed the connections and support I experience each year working with my students and their families.

My own kids are successfully making their way in the world and we do our best to gather weekly for dinner and staying connected. This stage comes faster than you can imagine. Brian and I are enjoying traveling and hanging out together. I love to travel, explore, read, write, and learn. I returned to the hobby of crocheting about 3 years ago and love the peace and beauty that this hobby brings.

I am looking forward to a great year of learning together. You can reach me at scheller.carmi@westada.org
