Ms. TeriLyne Moody

Welcome to the Title 1 Reading Lab!

My Why

I believe all students can learn. My passion is literacy and helping students to become proficient readers and writers.  I feel blessed to work with students in these area. By encouraging others to become lifelong learners that persevere through challenges, everyone can be successful.

My Background

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and feel a strong connection to this area as I spent my childhood there. During my life  I have lived in four states: Utah, Washington, Arizona and Idaho. I have taught in three of those states as a pre-K, kindergarten, first, third, fifth and sixth grade teacher.

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher as I come from a family of educators. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at Boise State University in Elementary Education. Later, I pursued  a Masters of Education degree at Northern Arizona University in Early Childhood with a Literacy Endorsement. I am a certified reading specialist.  One of my fondest memories is becoming a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the same time my daughter was inducted.  It was the first time Northern Arizona Uiversity has had a mother and daughter inducted at the same time.

Currently, this school year brings my 27th year of teaching with 9 of those years spent at Summerwind STEM Academy.

My Interests

I had the opportunity to move back to Idaho to be with my sweetheart. Together we share 5 children and 2 granddaughters. Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do. I also like to read, walk and hike in the outdoors, bake and travel, expecially to the beach. I collect teddy bears and have many from my travels.
