During September we will be working on writing paragraphs that include a Main Idea and Supporting Details.  Additionally students are identifying the Main idea and analyzing of Social Studies text as we study Colonial America.  We have researched and evaluated the establishment of Roanoke Island, the development of Jamestown, and the experiences of the pilgrims as they created the Plymouth Colony.  Students were able to read the original text of the Mayflower Compact and we worked together to interpret the meaning of the original document.  Our class is thoroughly engaged in the learning progress and excited about where this year will take us with the study of social studies.
