Mrs. Michael
Welcome to Ustick!
I am sure you are curious about your child's 1st grade teacher. I am married and we have a daughter that has attended Ustick Elementary K-5. Amelia attended Lowell Scott Middle School and is currently attending Centennial High School. She keeps John, my husband, and I very busy with all of her extra-curricular activities in Centennial Sweet Liberty Dance Team, piano, religion class, and Senior Girl Scouts.
I have taught at Ustick elementary for the past sixteen years. I have my BA and Ma in Education and Special Education both from BSU. For the last eleven years I have taught first grade and I have also taught second grade for one year. I have really enjoyed being in the classroom. Before that, I taught four years in the Special Education extended resource room at Ustick. Overall, I have taught fifteen of my soon to be twenty-eight years in education within special education for the Meridian School District. Part of those fifteen years in special education, eight to be exact, I was a special education consulting teacher. I have also been an adjunct professor and supervisor for five years at NNU. I have taught district workshops and have mentored new teachers within the district. This is my twelfth year as a fist grade teacher and I love teaching first grade! I was Ustick's "Teacher of the Year" in 2005-2006. I am very excited about this year and I am looking forward to the school year.
