Welcome Daytime Family!
I was born in Colorado but stake claims to a small town in Kansas and SoCal. I have been in the valley since 1993 and couldn't be happier to live and teach in the community that I do. I played school with my teddy bears and dolls as a child. I knew that when I grew up that I would become a teacher. It is something that is engrained in who I am. Here I am, 15 years into my profession still loving what I do.
I graduated from Boise State University with my B.A. in May 2002. I started teaching 6th grade at MMS and then moved to Andrus Elementary. During my year at Andrus I learned that I would be welcoming my son into this world. I chose to stay at home for the next two years and run three construction companies. I could not stay away from the sweet smell of freshly sharpened pencils so I returned to teaching in the fall of 2007. I became a science teacher for 8th grade students and it was here I learned that my true passion not only was for teaching but for SCIENCE as well! I went on to broaden my teaching experience as a STEM educator. I was able to teach science in all other disciplines. The last 4 years of my life have been extremely fulfilling as a teacher. However, I truly missed the "S" in STEM and now I am teaching my core passion again.
On a personal note... I love living and I live to love. My family is my everything; from my two boys, to my husband, my mom, dad(s) and my brothers. We enjoy traveling and spending time together. We seek adventure through who we are. Life is full and rich because of whom each family member is. There really is not much that we don't do or haven't tried. We are a very non-traditional family, and I love us even more because of that!
