Ms. Marianne Baker
Welcome to Eagle Hills Elementary School Extended Resource Room. My Name is Marianne Baker, one of two Extended Resource Room teachers here at Eagle Hills Elemetary School. I have taught here at Eagle Hills since the 2013 school year. I am so pleased to call Eagle Hills "my school" as a teacher, but also as a parent with a Kindergartener and two upcoming preschool children for next year.
My family moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada five years ago. I worked in the Clark County School District there within the Early Childhood Special Education programs. I taught children with Autism for two years and my most recent assignment before relocating, was teaching Pre-school children with Developmental Delays. I have taught in the Middle School teaching Health Education and Special Education. I also, taught adults at the college level and supervised them with their educational careers in becoming teachers of special populations. I have enjoyed all levels of instruction, but find that I enjoy teaching elementary children best.
All of my college education has been through the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a dual Bachelor's degree in Health Education and Special Education. My Masters of Education degree is in Elementary Education with an emphais in Inclusion studies.
My educational philosophy is at the heart of accepting differences in all students. I believe that all students are capable of learning, but some of us tend to learn differently or at a different pace or style than others. I believe that we all have something to offer the classroom community and our presence is a vital part of the community building within the school as a whole.
If you are a parent of a child within our Extended Resource Room program or are looking for a program that fits your child with exceptionalities, please feel free to call or stop into the office to meet with us at any time.
