Mrs. Jacqueline Kober

Hello and WELCOME to first grade!

I am looking forward to another year of teaching and working with first graders! First grade is such an amazing and exciting time in school!  I very much enjoy spending my days with these young people, encouraging and supporting them AND learning from them throughout our journey together! I hope all my students will feel the passion I have for teaching and develop a life-long love of learning far beyond first grade.

I began working for West Ada school district as the Safe School Assistant at Chaparral Elementary school.  The following year I was offered the opportunity to teach first grade there. This will be my 14th year teaching school, all of which have been spent in first grade! I am excited to embark on a new adventure at Discovery Elementary after having such a wonderful time at Chaparral!

In case you would like to know a little about my background.  I've lived in Idaho since I was 3, growing up in the Southeast corner near Bear Lake.  I graduated from Boise State University in 1993 with my degree in Elementary Education.  My daughter and son are the proud products of a West Ada education and have since graduated from Meridian High School. My daughter attends BSU and my son is in the Army. My husband Jim and I will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary in September.  We like to spend our free time cycling, hiking, skiing, camping, and playing in the beautiful state of Idaho!

I am very excited to meet my new first grade family this year!  I look forward to getting to know you and working with you, so together we can make this a happy school experience and successful first grade year for you and your student!
