Mrs. Brenda Walter

Welcome to my classroom website!

It's hard for me to believe that I have been teaching for 30 years! The first four years I taught 1st grade in Stockton, CA, and then moved to Elk Grove, CA where I taught 2nd and 3rd grade.  When we moved to Idaho, I taught at Eagle Elementary and Chaparral Elementary, mostly in 4th grade. I am thankful for my varied teaching experiences, but love teaching 4th grade the most!

I have been happily married for 29 years, and I have two wonderful sons, Brent and Jaden.  Brent is a BSU graduate and lives in the Boise area with his wife and 2 year old son. Yes, I love my grandma role!  Jaden is a 7th grader who loves sports, music, and video games. In my free time, I like to scrapbook, read, exercise, and spend time with my family. Together, we enjoy golfing, camping, and boating.

I believe every child is special and unique. I also believe that all children can learn and show significant progress. More learning takes place when children have a great attitude and a willingness to try. Learning is enhanced when it is fun and when the students take ownership of their learning. It is my desire to develop in children a love and enthusiasm for learning.  Finally, learning is maximized with parental support and involvement, whether it be in the classroom or with conversations and encouragement at home.  I hold high expectations for my students, both in academics and behavior, as I want all my students to reach their potential. This year we will make goals, work hard, and celebrate our successes!
