Mr. Corey Winn

Hello,  my name is Corey Winn.  Welcome to my website.  I graduated from Idaho State University with a  Bachelors degree in Mass Communication with emphasis in Journalism.   I was also an NCAA student-athlete playing tennis for the ISU Bengals for four years.   I then attended Boise State University and received a Teaching certificate in Secondary Education – Speech and Journalism.  I have taught Speech for 20 years at both Meridian and Mountain View High School. I have also coached the junior varsity and varsity tennis teams for these schools as well as coaching college tennis at Farleigh Dickinson University. I chose to go into this profession of education because I have empathy for children and genuinely care about their well-being.  My goal as an educator is to understand, motivate, and teach every child.  In the classroom, my main priority is to make my students feel safe and important.  I put a huge priority in teaching them to value one another’s opinions and feelings, and to always treat each other with respect.  I feel that it is important to develop a sense of community in my classes and I want each student to feel that they are a valuable member of the group.
