Masters in differentiated learning
Mrs. Amanda Birkinbine
I am a mother of seven (ages ranging from 17 to 4) and wife to an amazing husband. I love to scrapbook and be active with my kids. My husband and I keep very busy with seven, which includes triplet four-year-olds! They are a handful, but are the glue that connects our blended family together.
I am excited to get to know my new batch of students! I have a true passion for teaching. My favorite thing about my job is when I get to see students light up when something finally "clicks". I believe that all students can get better at something that they put effort and practice into. With that said I will be focusing not only on math concepts listed in the 6th grade common core standards, but our class will also focus on learning how to learn. Determination and grit are important predictors of long term success, and students will practice those learned skills through math concepts.
I love to use alternate methods to help students understand the most efficient method (traditional algorithms). I will be encouraging students to find answers in a way that makes sense to them.
Please see my calendar page for daily updates on homework assignments as well as math goals.
