Mrs. Sharon Price
Welcome to 3rd grade.
This is a very exciting and busy grade. This is the year that your child is moving from the primary grades to the intermediate grades. Our curriculum is very heavy as we are introducing new concepts such as, cursive, multiplication, reading for learning rather than learning to read, writing in various formats, and developing key boarding skills.
Although we have a lot of curriculum to cover, I also try to keep some balance between a healthy mind and a healthy body. Therefore, weather permitting, we run almost daily. In the beginning of the year this is a little overwhelming for some of the kids, but after just a few weeks, I usually have all the kids on board looking forward to those laps. This makes for a great way to start our day and/or to take a break from our rigorous daily schedule.
I have been teaching for almost 20 years in the district, for three years in a private school in Korea, and for 2 years as an English teacher to adult professionals in Ukraine. I feel fortunate to have had such diverse teaching experiences. Through these experiences, I have found and appreciated the universal love of learning that is common among most people.
I look forward to having a wonderful year of learning with your child.
