Chaparral PTA is a non-profit association dedicated to assisting in the educational success and experience of our students, teachers and families throughout the school year.
Welcome to the 2020-21 academic year! It is a one of many firsts and new beginnings – new teachers, new friends, new platforms, and schedules for learning, and new chances to make a difference in lives of the children. If this is your first year at Chaparral Elementary School – welcome!
If you are a seasoned Cougar family, we are grateful to see your faces again and know that everyone is ready to tackle the coming year.
Partnerships between parents, educators, and children enhance students’ success. We know that children learn more and have a better school experience when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts, information, and come together to create projects for the children’s benefit. As in years past, the PTA is committed to partnering with our amazing teachers and invaluable staff to provide a learning environment that empowers all to be successful lifelong learners. The one constant in this world of every changing needs is our need to have parent participation.
I encourage every family to become part of the PTA team. The number one reason to join the PTA is to benefit the children! This year, the PTA will be providing each member of the Chaparral community with a face mask bearing the Cougar logo as well as supplying water bottles for students while the drinking fountains remain closed.
- By becoming a PTA member, you demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education.
- By volunteering with your PTA, you gain valuable experiences and personal confidence. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use, for a good cause.
- By getting involved, you’ll be part of the solution and helping to make positive change.
- PTA functions provide opportunities to meet other parents and teachers.
- The PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, a way to make suggestions and provide your input.
Participation in the PTA can come in many forms – volunteer hours, working on the board, and assisting with fundraising. We spend a lot of money on the programs and events that enhance our children’s learning experience, and this year we hope to purchase a reader board for the school’s parking lot.
We are grateful for you, the parents, and look forward to working through this challenging school year together!
Sincerely, Mrs. Hunt - PTA President
