Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to take part in opening our new Hillsdale school this year, and equally excited to meet all of my new TK students! I have had the pleasure of working with 5 year olds for the last several years, in various settings, and have really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to our journey together this school year.
I was born and raised in Seneca, Oregon, a teeny, tiny town with a population of 250. After graduating high school, I attended a couple of colleges in OR, when a certain military man came along and swept me off my feet and asked me to marry him. For the next several years, I continued college and welcomed our first child while traveling the U.S. with my husband as he served in the Army. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Education from the Univ. of Arizona (go Wildcats!) and had our baby girl the next day. Once out of the military, we spent the next few years in Littleton, CO, where I enjoyed being a stay at home mom to my beautiful babies. The decision to move closer to "home" brought us to Boise, ID. A year later, we had our last baby, and I had the privilege of spending the next several years being a full time mommy, a decision I wouldn't trade for anything. Once all my children were in school, and I was going a little stir crazy, I decided to embark on subbing. I subbed for 6 years with the Meridian School District, and have taught Kindergarten at Mary McPherson for the past 2 years. I am so excited to be joining our new community of teachers here at Hillsdale and look forward to working with them on a daily basis. I just know this is going to be a wonderful year full of new and exciting adventures!!!
Things I enjoy doing in my free time are playing softball and volleyball, camping and boating with family and friends, watching my own kids' sports, bike riding, hiking and photography.
I am so excited to start this school year and look forward to getting to know each and everyone of my students and their families. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
