This year, at Desert Sage, you have the opportunity to work with two counselors. Shauna Moore, school counselor for Silver Sage and Eagle Hills Elementaries, will be working at Desert Sage on Mondays. I will be here Tuesday through Friday to assist you, and the students, with any social/emotional concerns, and provide assistance with community resources for food, clothing, mental health and homeless referrals as always.
I am a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, where I received a B.A. in English with an emphasis in creative writing. From 1997 to 1999 I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English as a foreign language to high school students in Latvia, Eastern Europe. That experience inspired me to become a school counselor. I went on to pursue my master's in counseling from Boise State University, graduating in 2004. I also carry my professional license in counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor--L.P.C.)
I have been working as a school counselor for 13 years--11 of those I have had the pleasure to serve at Desert Sage Elementary.
