I am full time at Desert Sage--Monday through Friday--to assist famililies, and the students, with any social/emotional concerns, and provide guidance accessing community resources for food, clothing, mental health, housing and holiday resources. I am a mother of two and I appreciate the other trusted adults in their lives who advocate for their welfare when my husband and I are not able to be by their sides during the day. As your child's school counselor, I will advocate for your child and his/her needs throughout the school day.
I am a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, where I received a B.A. in English with an emphasis in creative writing. From 1997 to 1999 I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English as a foreign language to high school students in Latvia, Eastern Europe. That experience inspired me to become a school counselor. I went on to pursue my master's in counseling from Boise State University, graduating in 2004. I also carry my professional license in counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor--L.P.C.), and am currently being supervised to get my clinical license (L.C.P.C.).
I have had the pleasure of serving as an advocate for children at Desert Sage since it opened in 2006. During times of remote learning, please contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
or by phone at 208-350-4020 if you wish to set up a virtual meeting for your child.
Let me know how I can best meet your child's needs.
