B.A. English with an emphasis in creative writing, Pacific Lutheran University, 1997 M.A. Counseling, Boise State University, 2004 Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), 2004 to present

Mrs. Erin Fischer

I am excited to begin my first year with you at Discovery Elementary as your new school counselor. I have had the privilege of working in the West Ada School District since 2006, serving families, and students, with any social/emotional concerns, and providing guidance accessing community resources for food, clothing, mental health, housing, and holiday resources. In 1997 graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA in English and an emphasis in creative writing. 10 days after graduation, I left for Latvia, Eastern Europe, where I served 27 months with the United States Peace Corps, teaching English to high school students as a foreign language. I received my MA in School Counseling from Boise State University in 2004, and additionally my professional counseling license (LPC). I am married to a West Ada teacher, and we have two highly energetic and independent children that keep us on our toes. I place great emphasis on intervention and education of the whole child, not just academic, or only social/emotional/behavioral, but all parts of the child affected by and responsible for learning. One aspect is not exclusive from another.

I look forward to meeting you and your children, and partnering with you for your student's success--academically and socially. To make an appointment, or to refer your child to meet with me, please call me at the school at 208-855-4090, or email: fischer.erin@westada.org.
