Mrs. Jackie Bradley (Librarian)

I have been the librarian at Ustick Elementary School for 6 years.  I have twin boys who attended Ustick since they were in kindergarten.  They are now in 7th grade at Lewis and Clark Middle School!

I LOVE to read-but I didn't always!  When I was a kid I didn't find reading interesting until my I heard my little brother laughing out loud (on multiple occasions) while reading a book.  I HAD to see what was so funny!  The book was called Bunnicula by James Howe.  I still favor humorous fiction over all others to this day.

When kids tell me they don't like to read-I know what they mean!  They mean that they haven't found that ONE book that they can read and that makes them laugh, or wonder, or cry!  That ONE book that makes all other books suddenly more interesting!  My goal is to find that ONE book for anyone who hasn't yet.

In our library students learn proper library terms, etiquette, and book treatment. They learn how to access our library catalog online to search for books within our library.   I teach them to locate books in the library using the Dewey Decimal System for non fiction and alphabetical order by author last name for fiction, as well as how to apply what they learn to puplic libraries and other school libraries.

Now, I know what you're thinking.  You're thinking,  "The Dewey Decimal System is still around??"  Haha!  Yes, yes it is!

Thank you for letting me read to your kids!  It's best part of my job!
