•  MHS Speech & Debate Team - Warrior Forensics

Meridian High’s Speech & Debate program, Warrior Forensics, has provided students the opportunity to improve their presentation and speaking skills for years.

Our students have the choice of two styles of debate, and thirteen different styles of speeches. Debate participants have the opportunity to argue on topics dealing with government, current events, and philosophy. Speech participants have the opportunity to complete in platform events (prepared), limited preparation events, and even interpretive events that deal with humor and/or drama.

Warrior Forensics competes across the entire valley at local high schools.  In addition to local tournaments in the area, students have the opportunity to travel to competitions in other parts of the state.

If you’re willing to work hard and show dedication, then the Warrior Forensics / Speech & Debate team may be for you! We hold team nights every Tuesday in room 145 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.  Team nights may be extended on tournament weeks.  The doors are open to anyone interested in the program.
Debate topics are selected by the National Speech and Debate Association, and focus on current events.  The current topics for debate events can be found on the NSDA website
