Mr. Christian Housel

I am beginning my fifth year as the principal of the Idaho Fine Arts Academy and my 28th year as an educator.  Before coming to IFAA, I served as the principal or as an administrator in several schools in the West Ada School District.  I spent time in some amazing places, including Lowell Scott Middle School, Meridian Technical Charter High School, and Eagle Elementary School of the Arts.  I also taught English, Spanish, and various Humanities courses at Meridian and Centennial High School during my teaching career.  I hold a Bachelor's of Arts from Northwest Nazarene University in English/Spanish Education, a Master's of Educational Administration from the University of Idaho, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership from the University of Idaho.  I love teaching and learning!  I have a real passion for all kinds of music and art!  I am also a pianist, vocalist, and songwriter who enjoys everything classical, jazz, contemporary and beyond.  I am excited about the opportunities IFAA brings to the students of West Ada and am excited about the future of this amazing school.  When I am not working with our students and staff, I spend time with my amazing wife Tiana and our two sons Cole and Bret.  I also spend as much time possible mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and making music.
