Mrs. Cinzia Russo

Hi everyone. My name is Cinzia Russo, I was born, raised and educated in Italy where I earned a Master of Science in Geology. In my own country, I taught science in High School for more than 15 years. About 7 years ago, my family and I moved from Italy.

I took some time off and then, I went back to school taking classes at BSU. I earned the Idaho State teaching certificate with an endorsement in natural science.

After a five year hiatus, two years ago, I felt honored to teach in USA. This is my third year at Westada School District, and my second at MHS.

I like to instill curiosity about science in my students. I will try to teach interesting concepts using stimulating methods which are a product of my unusual background. I love to share knowledge about my own culture and talk about the natural wonders on this planet. Over the summer, I took an on-line class and I became a little expert in Natural Parks. Also, I was teacher-ranger-teacher at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. I look forward to sharing this experience with my students.

What do I like to do in my free time? I like to chat with my Italian and American friends, teach Italian, read books (rigorously one in Italian and one in English), take Zumba classes, cook Italian food, bake bread, and make pizza. Last, but not least, I like a lot to spend time with my husband and my two children.

I have two favorite quotes,

” Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” Andre Gide and

"School isn't supposed to be a polite form of incarceration, but a portal to a wider world." Richard Louv
