Hi, I'm Raven Meinen! I am thrilled to be able to partner with teachers as an instructional coach this year. I was born and raised on the bayou in southern Louisiana. I spent my first 6 years teaching 4th and 1st grade there. It is also where I developed a deep love of literacy instruction which led me to earn my master's degree in Reading Education. After 28 years in LA, it was time for a change. So, I packed up and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. During my time in NC, I taught 2nd and 3rd grade, in addition to, serving as a reading specialist. Raleigh is where I met my husband who was serving in the US Army at Fort Bragg. Just a few weeks after we tied the knot, we were transferred to Arlington, VA where Mr. Meinen (My-nen) served as part of the Presidential Salute Battery Team at Arlington National Cemetery. I sure am proud of that guy! I taught 1st grade and served as ELA lead while in Arlington. We also welcomed our daughter into our lives while in VA.

     Since my husband's service to the Army is complete, we are all so happy to be settling down in Idaho. We have called Idaho home now for 4 years and are excited to grow some roots in the Treasure Valley.  I look forward to working with your community this school year.
