Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Rachael Griffith

I am so excited to begin my 3rd year here at Seven Oaks! I am a graduate of BSU, with a degree in Music Education. I am a vocalist mainly, but I do play some piano, and am quite adept at percussion, and gained some proficiency in all strings, brass, and woodwind instruments through my degree program. I am an active member of Opera Idaho, and travel during the summer to sing elswhere in the country, most recently in New York and Utah. I grew up on the stage, working with companies like The Missoula Children's Theater, Opera Idaho Children's Chorus, Knock 'Em Dead Productions, and many others. I have also appeared in commercials, and training videos for Albertson's markets. I have a wonderful husband who teaches Earth and Physical Sciences at Vallivue High School, a brilliant son in 9th grade at Vallivue, two fantastic step daughters, now in their 20s, and the cutest granddaughter you could ever hope for.

Music at Seven Oaks is a different experience. In my class we will explore the world and our minds using music as the medium. We will use rhythm, beat, and melody to help us recognize patterns and strengthen math skills, instruments to strengthen our fine and gross motor skills and hand/eye coordination, games and dances to strengthen social skills and conflict resolution, and composition and improvisation to become masters of creative problem solving! My goal is to facilitate my students in discovering how to use music to develop skills that will make their lives easier as the grow.

Please feel free to email, or catch me in person with any questions. Onward and upward!
