Mrs. Kristin Cottier

I'm Kristin Cottier and I'm so excited to be teaching your student this year!

A little about me:

I have been married to my husband, Brian for 21 years and have two daughters; Bennett and Grayson.  My family loves to be outdoors, cook together, and when we're able -- travel.

I grew up in Portland, OR and came to Boise to play varsity golf for Boise State University.  I finished my 4 years of eligibilty and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.  From 1999-2009 I took time to raise my family and take on number of creative opportunities.

In 2009 I began my employment with the Boise School District and thus, began my passion for working with children.  I spent 4 years working as a reading interventionist, the parent engagement coordinator for my former school, and the head 5th and 6th grade track and field coach.

During my time working as an interventionist, I decided to commit to once again becoming a student and earned my teaching certification through the American Board in 2015.

This is my seventh year teaching at Joplin Elementary, and I'm really enjoying being a part of the Joplin family.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your student.  It's going to be a great year!
