Mr. Samuel Pérez
My parents were very poor and worked in the fields and orchards when they were married. Shortly afterwards, I was born in a southern Texas border town. We eventually migrated up the Mississippi River and finally settled in Wisconsin where I learned English and graduated from high school. "You betcha, don'tcha know, eh?" "Go Packers!!!"
I attended a small undergrad school in North Dakota and earned my B.A. degree and played college football for three years. Also, it was there when I met my wife, Lori. She was a native Idahoan, so we decided to move to the Treasure Valley after we were married in 1989.
I started my education career as a bus driver, substitute teacher and high school football coach. Later, I pursued further studies and taught at various public and private schools. Teaching is a calling for me, because I believe there is no greater joy than to inspire students to reach their goals and be confident in their natural and learned abilities.
My wife and I are both educators in the West Ada School District. She is an amazing Education Support Professional at a local middle school’s ERR department. I am the proud-of-my-students EL Teacher at MMS.
I enjoy flyfishing, camping, reading, various sports and video games.
Hablo muy poco español, pero estoy aprendiendo. :)
