Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Carmen Uscola. I am the Resource and Intervention teacher. This will be my 7th year at Discovery. I want to express my excitement about working with your child this year. I have a passion for quality education, which continues to compel me to learn about the best strategies for educating students.
I have lived in the Boise area my whole life. My parents are from Spain and my sister and I are the first generation of our family born in the United States. My first language was Basque. Most people have not heard of the Basque culture unless you are from Idaho.
I have Masters of Education in Special Education from Boise State. My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and they learn in different ways. One of my responsibilities as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work with them to maximize it. I want my students to explore their individual interests while improving their skills in all areas of the curriculum. I believe each child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential in my classroom.
I am looking forward to working with your child in the classroom to facilitate their exploration, discovery, and learning. Thank you for this opportunity to participate in your child’s learning!
