Ms. Kari Porter

Hello!

Welcome to 4th grade!

I am excited to join the Prospect family this year! I have been teaching for a total of 9 years and spent the last 6 of those years at Desert Sage Elementary. I was also teaching 4th grade over there. I previously taught Title 1 and 1st grade. I love 4th grade and we have so many fun things to learn! I am an Idaho native, so it is really fun to teach Idaho history and share stories and special locations we have around our beautiful state that you can go visit. Outside of history, I also enjoy teaching math and creating art projects. In the eveings and on the weekends a do a little bit of online math tutoring through Prodigy. If you'd like more information about getting your child extra math support outside of school, just ask!

When I am not teaching, I like to spend a lot of my time outdoors. I am an avid trail runner so I love exploring wilderness spaces. I also like paddleboarding, mountain biking, and camping. I have two children who also enjoy going on adventures with me.

I have previously coached Girls on the Run at Desert Sage for 3rd-5th grade girls. I am hoping to eventually bring that program over to Prospect. Please reach out if you have questions regarding this.

I am looking forward to another great school year!
