Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Kari Porter

Welcome to 4th grade!

I have been teaching for a total of 8 years with 6 of those years being here at Desert Sage. I previously taught Title 1 and 1st grade, and I have been teaching 4th grade for the past four years. I love 4th grade and we have so many fun things to learn! I am an Idaho native, so it is really fun to teach Idaho history and share stories and special locations we have around our beautiful state that you can go visit. I am thankful to work with the wonderful staff at Desert Sage and especially the rest of the 4th grade team. Outside of history, I also enjoy teaching math and creating art projects.

When I am not teaching, I like to spend a lot of my time outdoors. I am an avid trail runner so I love exploring wilderness spaces. I also like paddleboarding, mountain biking, and camping. I have two children who also enjoy going on adventures with me.

I also coach Girls on the Run here at Desert Sage for 3rd-5th grade girls. Please reach out if you have questions regarding this.

I am looking forward to another great school year!
