Mrs. Renee Lumley
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. I am excited to be teaching the CNA class again this year. I have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I have worked in the homecare, hospital, office and school settings. I am passionate about the nursing profession and I have loved teaching since making the career change. It is exciting to watch students grow and mature as they learn new skills throughout the semester.
By the end of the semester students will have completed the requirements needed to take the Idaho Nurse Aid Certification exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 states that students must complete 120 hours total of class and clinical time in order to take the certification exam. The hours are divided between 80 hours of class time and 40 clinical hours. Students will have 40 hours of clinical experience the last part of the semester, in long term care facilities, working along side CNA's (subject to change this year due to Covid-19).
