Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Carolyn Harvey
Hello there. Students, parents, and teachers have quite a challenge this year, dealing with a global pandemic, learning and teaching in an unfamiliar format, while considering different perspectives about how best to continue our children's education. However, when we view our current situation through the lens of ancient history, we can all agree that humans have prevailed through worse circumstances, and that "this too, shall pass." In the meantime, despite our challenges, our goal remains the same, to do what is best for our valuable children.
Although I spent 17 years at the elementary level, sending students off to the great unknowns of middle school was unsettling. So I decided to move up, where I could help 6th graders with their transition into middle school. I am enjoying my fifth year as one of Victory Middle School's sixth grade World Civilizations (ancient history) teachers. I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Colorado--Boulder and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Boise State University. This year I will be a participating teacher in the Sources of Strength program and the AVID program,.
Students are the most important people at Victory Middle School, and the relationships built with both students and their parents are priceless. Please feel free to share any helpful information, comments, or questions with me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can do this!
