Mrs. Chantel Bennett

Hi, My name is Chantel Bennett and I am Secondary Math Teacher. I have always had a deep love of mathematics. In high school I was lucky enough to have Dr. Ehrlich as my math teacher, he helped me grow my understanding of complex mathematical concepts and advanced that knowledge in Calculus class.  I have a deep respect for Dr. Ehrlich who taught me to enjoy the numbers and the processes that we have to go through to get to the correct answers. I have always really enjoyed the feeling of accomplishment that comes after I have contemplated a truly difficult problem and finally come to the right conclusion, thus finding the right answer to the problem at hand. From these experiences I wish to help other students learn to enjoy the mathematical processes that can be obtained through educating them on what resources are available and helping them find the answers to the many problems that they will encounter, not just the problems that they will encounter in my classroom. I have a deep love for children and want to help them succeed  but to do that they will need to be proactive in asking for help when they find themselves not able to complete a task on their own. I want students to get comfortable asking me questions in and out of classroom but also know that they can seek out help from peers or other resources. I work on teaching students life lessons and how to make it through problems so they can go out into the real world and be successful.

I graduated from Greenleaf Friends Academy and spent my freshmen year of college at George Fox University. I have two beautiful daughters, Grace who is now 11 and Jayda who is 10. A year ago I married Erik Bennett and enjoy having two step-daughters, Jaden who is 14 and Ashton is 12. My husband and I play on many Boise league softball teams and we have a full time job keeping up with all our kids after school activities. In 2014, I graduated from Boise State University with my Bachelor of Science degree, with an emphasis in Mathematic Education and a minor in English. I am currently employed at Westada School district as a new Math teacher for Mountain View High School and look forward to a great year getting to know a new school.
