Hi! I am so happy to be the school nurse at Pioneer! I joined the Pioneer Puma Team in August of 2016. I am so blessed to get to work with so many talented and amazing people! It is truly my honor to be given the responsibility of taking care of your child while they are here at school. As part of my job, my mission is to enhance the educational potential of all students by promoting wellness and facilitating the management of health conditions which could create barriers to learning. The West Ada School District strongly believes, as do I, that healthy students learn better. Currently 38 registered nurses and 10 health technicians serve the health and wellness needs of over 39,000 students.
I have been a registered nurse since 1994. I got married shortly thereafter to an amazing man who served his country in the Air Force for 24 1/2 years. He has retired and we decided to settle in Eagle, ID. Being "married to the military" meant moving every 2-3 years and has taken me all over the world. I have lived in 5 different countries and have been blessed to have learned about nursing in other parts of the world. My work experience is vast, since we have moved 14 times, and includes experience in Pediatrics, Mother/Baby nursing, Neuro Trauma ICU, and school nursing.
I am a mom to 3 amazing kids. My oldest, Ben, is 20 and is currently a sophomore at Montana State University. Katie is a sophomore at Eagle High School and is on the varsity swim team and lacrosse team. Sarah is 13 and attends Eagle Middle School and plays on the volleyball team. Being a mom definitely helps taking care of kids!
I am always open to you stopping in or giving me a call. Once again, thank you for trusting me to take care of your most valuable treasures!
