Mrs. Megan Shaw, Counselor
Hello! My name is Megan Shaw and it is a privilege to work with the students, families, and staff at Joplin Elementary.
I have been a counselor since 2003, and have worked at Joplin since 2015. I have been married for 18 years and have 2 children, 16 year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter. My family keeps busy with football, golf, soccer, and volleyball during the school year and enjoys our summers at the cabin on the lake boating and fishing. I love to read, travel, digital scrapbook my families adventures, and staying active to keep up with my kids. My experiences as a mom have helped me to have compassion and understanding of the struggles that many families face today.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho in Child Development and Family Relations in 1999. I always wanted to be a counselor so I immediately continued my education earning my graduate degree from Northwest Nazarene University in counseling in 2003. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho as well.
Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions, concerns and/or in need or resources.
I am at Joplin Tuesday-Friday.
