Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Nicole Lyons

Hello! My name is Nicole Lyons.  I have the wonderful opportunity to teach 5th grade at Willow Creek this year.  Raised in Idaho (a Borah high graduate), I left for college to Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah.  I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education while attending BYU.  After this, I began teaching 4th grade in Alpine, UT.  My husband got a job teaching at Eagle High School, so I returned to Idaho.  I have had the pleasure of teaching a Willow Creek for two years now, and I am looking forward to another great year!

Guess where I met my husband?!  We met on the track at BYU. Yes, running is a huge part of my life.  I’ve been devotedly running for 13 years now.  At college, I traveled all around the country competing because I was on the track and cross country teams.  Currently, I run marathons.  My most recent one was the St. George Marathon.  I had an incredible experience running the race, and as a result of this race, I had the opportunity to visit Japan and run a race there as well.

Lastly, the lovely sound of a piano is something that I simply can’t get enough of.  I have a passion for music.  I began piano lessons in the 2nd grade and have played since then.  Growing up, throughout school, and still now, I enjoy accompanying soloists and small ensemble groups.  At BYU, I received a minor in music, and I have taught piano lessons since then.

Another school year is about to begin, and I can’t wait! I look forward to getting to know your children while helping them to develop a love for learning.  It’ll be the best year ever at Willow Creek!
