Bachelor Spanish Teaching-BYU Master Educational Leadership-Temple University
Mr. David Hardy
Welcome to Spanish! Over the coming months, you will have the opportunity to begin your journey toward learning a new language. While becoming fluent in a language takes many years, learning a new language has the opportunity to open a whole new world to you; by doing so, you will have the opportunity to make new friends, learn more about our global environment, and become better prepared for the future. By the end of the year, it is anticipated that you will have the ability to use hundreds of words and phrases. In addition, you will gain a better appreciation of the Hispanic culture, and you will gain a basic understanding of grammatical themes, even in English.
While this is my second year teaching for West Ada, I have over ten years of educational experience, previously working for Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) with the TRIO Upward Bound program, which is a college preparatory program. I learned Spanish while living in Mexico for a couple of years, and then received a bachelor's degree in Spanish Teaching from BYU. I also earned a Master's in Educational Leadership from Temple University in Philadelphia; I taught Spanish for three years during my time in Philly .
I'm married to my beautiful wife, Chandra. I have a 14-year old son who is a freshman at Mountain View, and I have a baby boy who is insanely cute and I'm sure you'll hear a lot about. I'm very grateful to be working here, and very excited to get to know each of you.
