Mr. Dudley
My name is Orie Dudley, and I am teaching 6th and 7th Grade Mathematics, and Study Skills this year. This year is certainly going to bring new challenges, but I am looking forward to getting to know your student! We may be starting the school year remotely, but I am really hoping we will be back in the classroom together soon.
I have taken a somewhat indirect path to the classroom. I have a B.A. in English Literature from Hamilton College (in upstate New York), I have been a licensed architect, a real estate agent and a substitute teacher in the Boise School District. This will be my fifth year at Pathways.
Math can be a very difficult subject. I do set very high expectations and push my students to achieve more than they thought they could, and I will do everything I can to help them meet and exceed those expectations. There are three things necessary to succeed in my classroom: You have to work hard; you have to ask questions, and you can't be afraid to be wrong. Oh, and Go Red Sox!
My favorite thing to hear from my students is “Wait a second, that’s it? But this is easy!”
