Mrs. Amanda Arevalo
Hello! My name is Mrs. Arevalo (Uh-rev-uh-low) and I am so excited for my fourth year at Discovery Elementary. I can't wait to get to know you and your family this year. :)
I LOVE writing grants for our classroom! In my four years of teaching I have received 10 grants for our class. We have received items for Flexible Seating, MakerSpace, Technology Storage, Book Bins, Character Ed. and Social Skill books, School Supplies, and more! I love finding new ways to make the learning in our classroom engaging and get the kids excited to come to school every day.
Our current project is Filter the Fluorescents to Keep Us Calm and all donations are currently being MATCHED by Google! Feel free to share this link with friends and family to get them excited about our classroom. https://www.donorschoose.org/project/filter-out-the-fluorescents-to-keep-us-c/4243998/?rf=email-system-2019-07-proposal_eligible_autodonationmatch-teacher_3812984&challengeid=20828236&utm_swu=8005&utm_source=dc&utm_medium=page&utm_campaign=project&utm_term=teacher_3812984
2nd grade is the best grade EVER! This is the year we become fluent readers, tackle three-digit addition and subtraction, learn about traditions around the world, and become plant and animal experts. We solve problems, make mistakes, celebrate our learning, and get smarter every day!
I grew up in Meridian and went to school in the West Ada District. I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Walla Walla University, which is where I met my husband, Moses. We have two fur babies-- a little Bichon named Winston and a 1 year old Goldendoodle named Leo. When I'm not at school I enjoy eating Mexican food, playing with my dogs, doing anything artsy or creative, or participating in [Netflix] marathons.
This year is going to be great! I can't wait to meet you!
