Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kayla Kiemel
My name is Kayla Kiemel and this is my fourth year teaching at Lewis and Clark and my sixth year teaching. Before coming to Lewis and Clark, I taught for two years in Caldwell, Idaho teaching 6th grade English. Three years ago I taught the English Labs and Study Labs at LCMS for sixth, seventh, and eigth grade.
I am married to an Airforce firefighter with a four year old son and a one year old daughter. Our whole world pretty much revolves around the kids! My husband and I love to spend time at our cabin in Lowman, Idaho and with friends and family as much as possible. I come from a family of teachers that teach in positions ranging from elementary all the way up to college professors. They have set an incredible example for me in the classroom and I strive to live up to their teaching accomplishments everyday in my own classroom. I have a passion for teaching that has gone all the way back to being five and teaching my "class" in the bathroom mirror while my mom did my hair every morning. I LOVE my job and every one of my students has a special place in my heart.
I am so excited for a successful year with a lot of progress!
Please email me if any questions that come up throughout the year and I am always happy to answer.
Thank you to all parents who share their kids with me every day.
My name is Madison Hartwell and I am student teaching in Mrs. Kiemel's class this Fall. I am currently getting my Masters of Art in Teaching at the College of Idaho and am so excited to be placed at Lewis and Clark Middle School for this experience. I've had a passion for reading from a young age and want to help create an effective environment for students to have that opportunity as well. In college I majored in English and Theatre, both of which have given me great skills for teaching. I am a Boise native and enjoy spending my free time during summers working at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and going to my cabin with my boyfriend and our dog, Kai.
